About AutoNotes

AutoNotes generates structured clinical notes from three input modes: typed session summaries, dictated audio, or live in-session recording (First Class and above). It supports standard formats including SOAP, DAP, BIRP, and custom templates, with note-to-note continuity that carries context across sessions for the same client.

The Economy plan ($29/month, $14/month annually) covers unlimited AI-generated notes and treatment plans via typing or dictation. The First Class plan ($69/month, $34/month annually) adds live recording from in-person or virtual sessions, the ability to record from other platforms, note-to-note continuity, and a custom template builder. Enterprise adds team management, advanced analytics, and custom workflows.

AutoNotes is HIPAA and PHIPA compliant with a signed BAA available. The platform explicitly does not train AI models on customer data or PHI. All notes require clinician review before use in clinical records. Over 81,000 clinicians use the platform across individual practices, group practices, and healthcare facilities.

Pros and cons

What it does well

  • Annual plan at $14/month is among the lowest flat-rate prices in the category
  • Note-to-note continuity provides session context that most competitors lack
  • PHI explicitly never used to train AI models — stated data privacy commitment
  • Three input modes — type, dictate, or live record — covers every workflow

Limitations

  • Live recording and custom templates locked behind First Class ($69/month billed monthly)
  • No SOC 2 certification listed — HIPAA compliant but fewer third-party audits than Mentalyc
  • No native EHR integrations published

The verdict

A strong budget option with the lowest annual pricing in the category and genuine note-to-note continuity — held back only by the absence of EHR integrations and SOC 2 certification.
